Это наше большое удовольствие представить вам, из чего же состоит Ubuntu 11,04, названная Natty Narwhal. А все началось 17 августа 2010 года, когда Марк Шаттлворт объявил следующее название операционной системы Ubuntu - Natty Narwhal.
Ubuntu 11,04 это уже 14-й выпуск ОС Ubuntu и она будет поддерживаться в течение 18 месяцев на настольных ПК и серверах.

Для тех, кто не в курсе, Ubuntu One — аналог дропбокса — облачное хранилище, в первую очередь заточенное под синхронизацию данных между различными компьютерами. Несмотря на название, Ubuntu One поддерживает разные ОС (Ubuntu, Android, iOS, Windows в бете), причем для мобильных систем есть функция потокового прослушивания музыки из облака.

да-да это не какой то пиар, всё действительно просто. Сейчас есть возможность бесплатно погонять сервер в течении 720-ти часов что примерно 30 дней хостинга, всего лишь указав при регистрации в поле скидка слово “testcloud”. Под катом я бы хотел показать некоторые тесты которые мне удалось сделать по производительности моего сервера, к примеру я сейчас на тесте использую Cloud-VPS-1, а это 512 МБ памяти и 1 ядро от Xeon 5520.
График выпуска для Ubuntu 11.10 (Oneiric Ocelot) операционной системы был опубликован на вики Ubuntu. Новая версия будет выпущена в середине октября 2011 года. Для Ubuntu 11.10 (Oneiric Ocelot), Ubuntu разработчики решили придерживаться графика выпуска для Натти. Это означает, что до выхода стабильной версии будет выпущено три альфа-версии и два релиза Beta.
